Take it as a lesson learned….Love sucks.
January 31st 2008 by D in I won the lotteryOne of the most unfortunate things about winning the lottery is the fakeness that overtakes people in your life. Some people you think you can trust, and let into your inner circle often always have an agenda of their own.
This stings deeper when it involves emotion and love. You really feel like someone wants the be close to you for who you are, and then you find out that when you stop paying for things, that the love dries up.
Well I don’t have time for that. I’m good looking. I’m young. And I’m rich. I won the lottery so I should be happier. This is the first bout of “depression” I’ve really dealt with since the win.
I’m glad I can express myself through this channel, its a good way to blow off steam.
It feels good to be single, and even better to be free of a leech! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Unfortunately, it happens to the best of us. Because of your newly acquired status you have to be extra careful of who you let in (as you already know.) Your heart may want to trust but your mind may say otherwise. No matter what, trust your gut. And no worries, you’ll get through this. PLUS YOU HAVE ALL YOUR BLOG BUDDIES!
Very true.
thats really a shame D…
D,
Sometimes that worries me, when I think about the big picture, if I ever did win. I have a LOT of kids and though I’m not rich, I do okay (middle class). Considering some of the conversations ( and arguments) I have with my children over money, it scares me to think about having a mass fortune sometimes. I watch every dollar I spend, and for that my family usually may be in want ( Hannah Montana Tickets), but is never in need of anything. All this leading to a question….Did you put any loved ones on an allowance? I assume you don’t have children, but I mean close family members and such.
I say you don’t let people you meet know you are rich. Get to know them for who they are. Say you are in sales. That’s appropriately vague and you could make good money doing it (to explain your spending). Once they get to know you for you, then tell them and see how they react. Leeches come with the territory unfortunately. Why do you think posses are so prevalent?
Don’t let love blind your common sense about your money because, unfortunately, people will stoop to a very low level just to get a piece of the pie… A shame really but you said it best, you’re young! Plenty of fish in the sea!
goes with the territory I guess. although as you have the money there are ways around it, although they would be complicated and probably good for a movie script.
Aw, I’m so sorry, man. That really sucks… Single will be fun, though, once you feel better.
Just goes to show you that money doesn’t buy you happiness.
My Superbowl prediction:
Partiots win over the Giants…
24-21
GO PATS!
hahahah K
OK I’m young I dont know much about love but I do know a bit about cartilage. Cartilage sucks, it doesnt grow back. replacement sucks, it won’t ever be as good as it was.
If you have your cartilage/ health be thankful and yes forget the leech.
