Update

August 11th 2008 by D in I won the lottery

I’m still around. Just don’t have a lot of time to update the site. Staying busy. I’m sitting in myrtle beach SC right now on the beach typing this :) I hope everyone is doing well!

I am new to your blog (read all the entries today,) but I just thought I’d leave a (somewhat) relevant comment to say I really enjoy your writing style. Honestly, I cannot read a blog if it isn’t written with perspective (even if it is about the internet’s favorite lottery winner.) I really enjoy that you seem to think about what you write, and that there is always a cheery edge to it, even in some of your unhappy posts. So, enjoy your vacation but know we will look forward to your return.

    Thank you.

Hi new here just wanted to add a little to this great site. I really like what you’ve done here first time I’ve heard of a rich….person asking the public on their input on just about anything let alone several aspects of life from charity to splurging. In closing really kool high five :)

    Hi D,
Nice to know you’re doing good deeds with the money!
    Just a thought:
If I was you I would put most of that money in to a few savings accounts (if you’re lucky - one’s that pay interest monthly) and only do good deeds/support yourself with the interest - then you’ll have a steady flow of money forever and will still be able to make people’s lives better!

I am new to this blog . I ound it by accicdent. First of all I want to tell you D what you’re doing is a good deed. There are not a lot of people whom win that do the things you are. For all those who made negative comments are (one day) going to see what it’s like to actually go hungary or have to eat water with your cereal because you don’t have enough money to buy milk. Though you work two jobs, still it’s not enough to make ends meet. Then again maybe not…some people just make money or have it handed down to them (old money) then think they can make other people feel worthless because they don’t have as much. Did they ever consider where they would be had they not had the money handed down to them?
I may sound rude, but I mean well.
D- you are great no matter what anyone says. Always keep in mind WHERE YOU CAME FROM, YOU WILL NEVER LOOSE SIGHT OF REALITY. STAY OFF HIGH HORSES AND REMAIN HUMBLE. What I mean is-You came from rags to riches and since you know what it is like to be homeless you can empathize. One hing that concerns me is yo said ,”you picked a bumb up off the streets and took him to the mall.” Harsh words for someone that use to live in their van. I know this is your blog, but don’t you think Homeless is a better word as opposed to “bumb”?
Again, you are awesome, keep up the good work. Don’t close your site , people that told you to do so are evil spirits trying to destroy you. They are hard hearted. If you want to know why I feel so compasionate about Homeless people…our church feeds the homeless daily and it really is sad. Watching a mother of four or three or two children cry because she needs help feeding them. Even worse watching her cry because she has lost them (to the state) and she is depressed and hungary and lost. She feels all alone on the streets. Some people that comment on this blog should evaluate themselves . Good luck with your site and God Bless You.
